Additional Incentive for Lateral Hires:
- Hiring Bonus of $25,000—half paid at time of hire (with first paycheck), remaining

Requirements

The following items MUST be included with the City application for consideration and
advancement to the next step of the recruitment process. Applications will be screened for
qualifications before being considered for advancement.

- Evidence of typing proficiency--A free typing test and certificate are available at
www.typing.com. Typing test must be dated within one month of application.
Qualified applicants must have a typing score of 35 words per minute with 85-90%
accuracy. Attach the certificate to your resume for upload.
The City of Lincoln City requires applications to be completed and turned in before the
closing date on the posting.
Candidate information will be sent to the Lincoln City Police Department for review.
Applicants that meet the requirements of the position may be invited to participate in
additional stages of the department selection process, including: panel interview, sitalong, Chief’s interview, and background investigation.
Final candidates will receive a conditional job offer. This offer is subject to the successful
completion of a psychological and a pre-employment medical examination. Once complete,
a final offer will be extended, and a starting date will be determined.
Hired individuals are required to attend the Dispatcher Academy class at the DPSST
headquarters located in Salem, Oregon. This includes a three-week basic
telecommunications course and a three-day emergency medical dispatcher class. Class
attendance dates are dependent on DPSST Academy availability. Candidates must keep in
mind that they must pass a DPSST training period as part of the minimum qualifications for
employment.
The selection process can take anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks upon a conditional job offer.
